Accurate Answers to Support Your Pet’s Health

When your pet isn’t feeling well or when you simply want peace of mind, diagnostic testing plays a vital role in uncovering what’s happening beneath the surface. At Five Mile Pet Clinic, we use modern imaging and lab technology to evaluate health concerns quickly and efficiently. Our goal is to get the answers you need so your pet can get the care they deserve.

With an in-house veterinary lab and digital imaging tools, we’re able to perform many tests on-site and provide same-day results. For more complex cases, we collaborate with outside veterinary radiologists and specialists to ensure the highest standard of care. Whether we’re monitoring your senior pet’s organ function or investigating a sudden change in behavior, our diagnostic services are a key part of the complete care we provide.

In-House Laboratory Testing

Our on-site lab allows us to run complete blood counts (CBC), blood chemistry panels, urinalysis, fecal exams, heartworm tests, and more without having to wait for outside labs. Rapid in-house testing means we can often make a diagnosis and start treatment the same day.

Digital Radiography (X-Rays)

We use digital X-rays to evaluate the bones, chest, and abdomen, helping us identify fractures, foreign bodies, organ changes, or signs of disease. Images are reviewed in-house and can also be shared with a board-certified veterinary radiologist for expert consultation when needed.

Ultrasound Imaging

Ultrasound provides a non-invasive way to examine soft tissues, including the heart, liver, kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs. When appropriate, we offer ultrasound consultations through trusted veterinary partners to ensure your pet gets a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis.

When Are Diagnostics Recommended?

Veterinary diagnostics aren’t only for sick pets. We may recommend testing to:

  • Establish baseline health values during wellness visits
  • Monitor senior pets for early signs of disease
  • Evaluate unexplained weight loss, vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy
  • Diagnose orthopedic injuries or joint conditions
  • Investigate changes in appetite, behavior, or bathroom habits
  • Pre-screen pets before surgery or anesthesia

Timely testing helps us catch issues early, improve treatment outcomes, and give you a clear picture of your pet’s health.
